MODULE 01 · LESSON 4 of 7

Teacher Burnout: The Story (pp. 3 & 4)

Explore Teacher Burnout: The Story, highlighting that the so-called teacher shortage is largely a retention crisis fueled by extreme workload, low pay, and burnout — yet countered by educators' deep sense of purpose.

Step 1: While watching the video, write at least four important ideas or details under the title on the left page. Each legible, clearly separated idea/detail must:

  • Be at least 3 complete, paraphrased sentences (not copied from the video or transcript)
  • Exclude personal feelings or reactions
  • Include the video timestamp (in parentheses)

Step 2: Add a symbol next to each detail:

😃= If the detail resonates with you
💡= If the detail is new or surprising to you
👎= If the detail is something you disagree with or question

Step 3: Write your Reflections on the right page.

Legibly handwrite a 6–7 sentence personal reflection on these concepts, explaining how you might integrate these ideas into your life, learning, or work. End your reflection with your signature.
